Most decorated soldier claim

[edit]

Just an FYI. Please do not archive this. While Audie Murphy has always been considered the "most decorated" combat soldier of World War II, that claim is based on decades-old information. Recent years and belated awards to others, bring that into question. Garlin Murl Conner and Matt Urban are also considered the "most decorated". — Maile (talk) 13:40, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article could use an "Awards and decorations" section as seen on pages like Richard Bong, Bud Day, Michael E. Thornton, etc. 98.97.40.20 (talk) 16:59, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for asking. Audie Murphy's awards and decorations are so many, that we had to separate them out to their own articles. Scroll to the bottom of this article's page below External Links. You will see a purplish colored box that just says "Audie Murphy". Click on the word "show". That will show you all the other Audie Murphy articles. "Recognition" is the one you want to click on there. Murphy was an extraordinary person. — Maile (talk) 17:22, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did not know that. Thank you. 98.97.39.209 (talk) 00:38, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
