[edit]this man i think did somthing almost seen immposible by beating at his sport so he deserv some credit dont just past negativity accusations on the man Berbick was a good boxer but ali was legemd dont compare its unfair to the athlete.
It seems that he died in Jamaica sometime October 28, 2006. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15458004/
Berbick was only knocked down TWICE by Mike Tyson in the second round of their 1986 fight, not three times as stated by the article. The confusion may stem from the fact that he hit the ground three times from the second knockdown.
His date of birth is August 1, 1954, not August 1, 1955 as stated on his biography page. Just Google his name, and you will see the various websites that have his birth date as August 1, 1954. It's a shame he was murdered. They have caught a suspect.
Berbick was born in 1954
[edit]-In his fight against ali in 1981 ali said 'old 39 year old me fighting young 27 year old berbick...' prior to a fight. -Berbick was born in rural Jamaica which has a reputation for people not reistering their children for a year. The method behind this is that they believe their kids will be at an advantage to do so because they will have a year up on them.
Nationality
[edit]He was born in Jamaica but emigrated to Montreal so does that mean he became a naturalized citizen of Canada surrendering his Jamaican passport? If so, that makes his nationality Canadian. --Hutcher (talk) 15:27, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
- According to several websites which I will cite in the article shortly, he became a Canadian landed immigrant but never a citizen. He eventually lost landed immigrant status in Canada due to his legal woes.Dash77 (talk) 18:32, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
Birth dates don't match
[edit]1st August 1955 in the Statistics section. 1st August 1954 under Early Life in the Biography section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.178.105.28 (talk) 11:15, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've fixed the dates to 1954. GoodDay (talk) 03:24, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
