Assessment Requested Wikiproject Canada
[edit]User at WP:CANADA requested review as this is no longer "Start" class. I'm comfortable bumping up to a "C" class because of the content and the fact that I was once told I was 'allowed' to rank things as high as a C. I would agree with the comment below that this needs some grammatical cleanup. Too many sentence fragments and run-on sentences. There are also a number of paragraphs that are devoid of citations. To my mind, these would need to be cleaned up before moving to a "B" Class.
Sentence Structure and more
[edit]This article needs an English teacher. Not because it's unintelligible, but because it has a strange sentence structure. It would appear as if people have been adding information without rewriting the entire sentence. I may try to edit it a bit but I wouldn't say I'm reliable. Africville and the Explosion
[edit]Just dropping [http://thechronicleherald.ca/TheNovaScotian/1156318.html this article from The Nova Scotian from today (Dec 7/09) which would seem to have further information for the article; maybe it could just go in external links, though....Skookum1 (talk) 14:51, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Africville founded by Black Loyalists
[edit]This is an inaccuracy. Africville was founded by two men who arrived as Black Refugees resulting from the War of 1812. Loyalists were not associated with the two. Different era! DivaMuzz (talk) 14:50, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
You are correct - the settlement happened after the War of 1812 by Refugees. However, there were still likely loyalists who were living at the time who migrated to Africville from the original black loyalist settlement that was in downtown Halifax.--Hantsheroes (talk) 16:25, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
